Point of interest on TD's WR recruits vs current Mean Green receivers.

Currently we have two WR that are over 6 ft. Brock Stickler at 6'3 & Brandon Jackson at 6'1.

Of TD's seven WR recruits are ALL over 6' except one who is 5'11. Two are 6'1, two 6'2, one 6'3 and one 6'4.

Also three are listed with 4.4 speed, two at 4.5 & 2 at 4.6. Bigger targets with wheels ?

Thats sweet. Now all we need is a QB to throw to them and an OL to protect the QB.

don't really know if i trust the ones we have now. Which of the four has the best arm? and is he the one that can make the reads, avoid pressure, or are we going to have to do the committee thing again. I really don't think that TD is going to want to do that and i still haven't seen one of our boys step up to prove that he can do it.

The same guy that saw to it that he had something else to do other than his assigned job by NOT recruiting a single kid the past two years(out of DISD), which has now been admitted in print in yesterday's DMN by Keving Sherrington; that same guy was responsible for teaching our QB's, which he never seemed to be doing any teaching at all, but rather seemed to enjoy bad-mouthing and screeming at his players whenever they screwed up.. He and his boss, both ex college QB's, were scared to throw the ball and ran a Run-First offense. With the run as the base of all that was "Dickey", neither of the two of them could evaluate between which three guys would be best to HAND OFF.

Given that fact, two of our current QB's have shown signs of being very good even though they were running for their lives most times. Woody led a scoring drive against Texas this past year and beat SMU. Meager, who was completely thrown to the wolves in '05 as a RS freshman and was beat nearly half to death, managed a very good game against LSU. The only time any of us have seen Tune play(last August), he looked like he could have started?

Considering all of the above I don't understand how anyone can have a true oppinion on just how good, or bad any of our QB's are until they have actually had some instruction on playing the position.

By the way per his interview tonight on the Bob West radio show: After a 15 year absence, this next summer North Texas will take back up where it left off in hosting the 16th Annual Todd Dodge Qaurterback and Reciever Camp, where they actually TEACH those positions to talent from across the state of Texas and the 5 state region.

P.S.

Other than the obious results from verbals recieved thus far, the above paragraph answers the "Hiring Todd Dodge out of HS is a bad move for North Texas MYTH # 1055"...HE WON'T BE ABLE TO RECRUIT VERY WELL AND BE ACCEPTED IN TEXAS BECAUSE HE'S UPSET SO MANY OF THE STATE'S COACHES FROM RUNNING UP THE SCORE ON THEM IN THE PAST.

15 years of statewide coaches sending TD their best talent to work on and study the QB and WR position must stand for something?
