Our former conference mate has a legitimate claim on the National Title. This is a good day for The 'Belt, the WAC, All Mid Majors and the Mean Green Nation!!!

Sadly, no, but the issue is that they didn't get the shot.

Record has NEVER been the benchmark for a national title at any level conference - see multiple Auburn teams, etc. So, true, BSU isn't the national champion in any poll on any level, but that doesn't take anything away from what they did and it highlights the important part of what they did - cause a legit discussion. Be the first mid-major to make a hard, legit claim to stand toe to toe with a big BCS bully and prove that every so often, David wins. If BSU WAS the national champion in any poll, well then, the mid-majors have arrived, fair shot for everyone, etc... it;s more important to note that the Broncos aren't the national champions on any level -- THAT'S the legacy they'll leave that has the most positive impact long term.

That being said, congrats to the Gators as well. HELL of a performance. That was SEC vs. Big Slow on display.

I'm hoping Boise has banners and NC rings made up for their team. No one will remember the bcs championship game 10 years from now but will always remember the '07 Fiesta National Championshiop game. Boise has a legitimate claim to the title and I hope their university, city and state act like it.

Also, I hope that Delaney sac finds it hard to sleep tonight and luck willing, his phone starts ringing and knocks heard from the door at sun up tomorrow. May the rest of his winter and the remainder of the year be filled with re-run, never ending questions concerning the unfair monster he's built. I hope it haunts him to no end.

please do. I think it was Mark May that said this game (Fiesta) is the seed laid down for a playoff garden. Lame metaphore, yes.

BCS is here until at least 2010 due to TV contracts. If we get even a small playoff then, people will be pointing to the Boise win as its roots.
