LITTLE ROCK (AP) -- Rashad Jones-Jennings scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Arkansas-Little Rock to an 86-75 victory Thursday night over North Texas.

UALR (8-8, 3-2 Sun Belt Conference) hit 62 percent of its field goal attempts in downing NTSU ((11-4, 2-2). The Mean Green were able to keep pace with the Trojans during the first half, trailing only 44-41 at intermission, by hitting 52 percent of their shots from the field, but that dropped off to 35 percent in the second half.

Terrance Akins added 16 points for UALR while dishing out six assists. Lekheythan Malone scored 13 points -- 9 of them on 3-of-3 shooting from long distance -- and Steven Moore had 10 for the Trojans.

Calvin Watson paced the Mean Green with 15 points. Michael Sturns and Kendrick Davis added 13 points each for NTSU, and Rich Young had 10.

Oddly enough this is one logo I don't see. Usually it's the UNT circle star.

I simply use it because it's the one we used when I was in school and I know no one else uses it. Too many people use the same avatars(or used too) and makes it hard to keep all of us straight.

Someone needs to fire that Associated Press writer. Even the stats on the righthand column, which are probably auto-generated, all read 'UNT'. That's just obsurd, I wonder how long it took them to stop calling us North Texas State Teacher's College.

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) -- Adrian Banks scored 26 points and pulled down nine rebounds Saturday to lead Arkansas State to an 84-60 Sun Belt Conference victory over North Texas.

Banks, who hit 3 of his 5 three-point shots, was one of five Indians who scored in double digits as ASU (8-9, 3-2 SBC) dominated the Mean Green (11-5, 2-3). Arkansas State blocked 10 of the field-goal attempts by NTSU, and led 41-24 at the half.

The Mean Green hit only 30 percent of their first-half shots from the field, and improved only slightly after intermission for an overall shooting percentage of 32.4. ASU, in the meantime, hit 41.9 percent of its first-half shots and made 13-of-19 in the second half -- 68.4 percent -- to finish the game at 52 percent.

Helping pile up the points for the Indians were Shawn Morgan, with 15; Wendel Ryan, with 14; Isaac Wells with a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds; and Jim Jones, who scored 11 points while dishing out a game-high seven assists.

Kendrick Davis led NTSU with 18 points, and Michael Sturns added 10.
