Maybe this has been reported, but there is a big billboard on I-35W in Burleson that says something like: "Thank you Todd Dodge; coach, leader, friend, legend". Below the words is a big Southlake Carroll logo. Doesn't say anything about UNT, but its pretty good pub anyway.

Saw that billboard on 30th of Dec. It just goes to show the support SLC has.

Before the state championship game there were 10 or so billboards that said "Go Dragons - Protect the tradition" on I 35 south.

I got all excited thinking the AD put up a billboard advertising season tix.

Guess not...:(

I haven't seen one in the Lewisville area... However, if you go to www.meangreensports.com and have pop-ups enabled, a great little pop-up of Todd Dodge appears, with a link to his bio and to buy season tickets. It's the small things, but that's certainly a step in the right direction.

Yes, but 35,000 vehicles (according to PlummMeanGreens lastest statistics) pass I35 daily. It would be great to have billboard signage advertising TD, North Texas Football, Mean Green Club, and season tickets from now until the end of the year.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you there. I'd love to see billboards posted all over the metroplex advertising North Texas. But that's going to take a much larger advertising budget than what Athletics has right now.

I just consider the pop-up window a small move in the right direction. It was fairly cheap to create, generates interest in the new head coach, and encourages people to buy season tickets. At the very least, it's certainly better than nothing at all...

I also agree Metroplex billboards, like the Dodge pop-up window, are needed (even on the back of the Fouts pressbox). Now is the time to pull out all the marketing that has been missing in past seasons, while Dodge is hot and fans are excited again. Billboards leading the San Antonio southbound were from fans and for the players/coaches/team. Billboard returning northbound was by fans to honor Coach Dodge. You guys just picked up a coach who is a total class act. Help him add to the tradition at UNT, then be prepared to protect it. TD truly honors, loves, and respects the fans as a key part of the team. With the number or students and alumni in this immediate area you should be selling out the existing stadium in advance. TD's family is loved in SL for their love, integrity and character as much as the win/loss record. It's rare and refreshing when you have a chance to have both.

      I am torn on what to do with EM, but I know he needs to go. Many say we need a HC with head coaching experience at the FBS level. I know there are HCs at other FBS programs doing more with less, but would they come to a place where historically it's difficult to win consistently and risk it all if their eye is ultimately on a power conference job? Then if you take a P4 conference former HC, they have most likely been fired and they may not get the mojo back like Tom Herman at FAU or Charlie Strong. So, if that is the case where do we go? Many are saying no FCS HC or no more coordinators who have not been a HC at this level. Again where do we go if not those type of guys? My thought is that you may have to hire that guy that this board has been reluctant to go after. That's the guys who have had issues somewhere else and that's why they are no longer where they are. Lane Kiffin had issues and FAU gave him the chance to resurrect his career. Alabama gave Sarkisian (spelling) a chance to resurrect his career and he is doing good things at Texas. We have tried a lot of things, but we have not tried that route of HCs with some skeletons in their past. I feel that if that coach wins, people will forget about their past. I am sure people at Texas have forgotten about what went down with Sark at USC. Just my opinion because we have been striking out for a long time on HCs.

      I'm not sure what the path is for Cobbs long term. A lot of us would absolutely love to have him in a HC role in Denton, but we want to see him gain HC experience first. Do we take a chance and give him that crown? Do we watch him leave, and possibly not return...ever?
