Nathan Dick

ALLEN, SR., QUARTERBACK

Height, weight: 6-4, 200

Key stats: Completed 261 of 402 passes for 3,622 yards and 23 touchdowns. He was also Allen's leading rusher with 577 yards and 11 touchdowns.

About Dick: The Rice recruit led Allen to the 5A Division I state semifinals. He didn't throw his first interception until the 13th game.

Did you know? Dick, an avid angler, would love to be a professional bass fisherman.

Tre' Newton

SOUTHLAKE CARROLL, JR., RUNNING BACK

Height, weight: 6-0, 194

Key stats: 274 carries for 2,010 yards and 20 touchdowns. Also caught 27 passes for 333 yards and three touchdowns.

About Newton: He was the driving force for Carroll's playoff run, including a 296-yard rushing performance in the quarterfinals.

Did you know? Newton wears No. 22 because that's what his mother wore as a college volleyball player.

Marcus Mathis

ROCKWALL, SR., RUNNING BACK

Height, weight: 5-8, 170

Key stats: 213 carries for 1,668 yards and 17 touchdowns.

About Mathis: Finished as the area's third-leading 5A rusher after leading Rockwall to an 8-3 season, including a 7-0 run in District 10-5A.

Did you know? Mathis likes to draw and wants to be an architect. "I think it would be pretty cool to see something I designed actually in front of me."

Breece Johnson

COLLEYVILLE HERITAGE, SR., WIDE RECEIVER

Height, weight: 6-1, 175

Key stats: 88 receptions for 1,343 yards and 19 touchdowns.

About Johnson: He was Heritage's big-play receiver in one of the area's top passing offenses.

Did you know? Johnson enjoys making pottery and is considering majoring in art in college.

Greg McCoy

WOODROW WILSON, SR., WIDE RECEIVER

Height, weight: 5-11, 175

Key stats: 37 catches for 834 yards (22.5 per catch) and 10 touchdowns.

About McCoy: He was Woodrow's playmaker as a receiver, defensive back and return man.

Did you know? McCoy enjoys singing. "It's a family thing. We all know how to sing. Gospel, R&B, slow jams, anything."

Malcolm Williams

GARLAND, SR., WIDE RECEIVER

Height, weight: 6-3, 205

Key stats: 26 receptions for 517 yards and two touchdowns. Also rushed 49 times for 435 yards and a touchdown.

About Williams: The Texas recruit also scored on interception and kickoff returns in helping Garland to the 5A Division II state semfinals.

Did you know? Williams' older brother, Kendrick, played defensive back on Garland's 1999 state championship team.

John Jones

CEDAR HILL, SR., OFFENSIVE LINE

Height, weight: 6-5, 295

Key stats: Recorded 40 pancake blocks and allowed just one sack in a 16-0 season.

About Jones: A Baylor recruit, Jones played a big role in Cedar Hill's championship drive as an offensive tackle.

Did you know? Jones has been playing football for just four years.

Josh LeRibeus

RICHARDSON BERKNER, SR., OFFENSIVE LINE

Height, weight: 6-4, 340

Key stats: The SMU recruit averaged six pancake blocks a game while blocking in one the area's top rushing offenses.

About LeRibeus: LeRibeus was such a spearhead for Berkner's offense that he was moved to different positions on the line during the playoffs.

Did you know? LeRibeus, a History Channel buff, wants to be a civil engineer.

Jeremiah Hatch

CARTER, SR., OFFENSIVE LINE

Height, weight: 6-3, 302

Key stats: Hatch, a center, was the top lineman for a team that averaged 286.3 rushing yards.

About Hatch: Quick and smart, Hatch was responsible for making all the line calls to get Carter in the right blocking schemes.

Did you know? Hatch, a center on Carter's basketball team, didn't play football until a coach made him play in the eighth grade.

Manaaki Vaitai

EULESS TRINITY, SR., OFFENSIVE LINE

Height, weight: 6-3, 300

Key stats: 212 knockdown blocks, including 37 pancakes.

About Vaitai: Was a physical presence at left guard for the area's premier power-running team.

Did you know? Vaitai is completing the paperwork to become an Eagle Scout. His project involved making improvements to the fences at a pair of youth baseball fields.

Tray Allen

SOUTH GRAND PRAIRIE, SR., OFFENSIVE LINE

Height, weight: 6-5, 305

Key stats: Didn't allow a sack in two seasons and graded between 85 and 90 percent in every game.

About Allen: Committed to Texas, Allen is rated as the top recruit in the state and among the top 10 recruits nationally.

Did you know? Allen was a first baseman and designated hitter until he gave up baseball after the ninth grade.

Cyrus Gray

DESOTO, JR., UTILITY

Height, weight: 5-11, 190

Key stats: Second in the area in scoring in 5A with 224 points. Rushed for 1,482 yards and 31 touchdowns, caught 38 passes for 436 yards and passed for 30 yards and a touchdown.

About Gray: He played slot receiver, running back and sometimes quarterback.

Did you know? Coach Dave Meadows says Gray is "a quiet, reserved guy" who lets his play do his talking.

About Frazier: He became a dominant force in the second half of the season in Garland's run to the state semifinals

Did you know? Frazier is one of the best table tennis players on the team. Garland has a table set up in its meeting area.

Lloyd Loggins

CARTER, SR., DEFENSIVE LINE

Height, weight: 6-2, 300

Key stats: 96 tackles, 41/2 sacks, two fumbles recovered.

About Loggins: Was a key run-stuffer in the middle for a defense that allowed 116 rushing yards per game.

Did you know? His favorite class is calculus: "If I can do anything in math, I'll be all right."

Kyle Russo

About Francis: Baylor recruit made a memorable fourth-down stop on the goal line to preserve the semifinal victory over Garland.

Did you know? Francis can do a backflip. He did it once in a game, when he was 8, to celebrate a friend's touchdown, and received a 15-yard penalty.

Justin Padron

Key stats: 240 tackles, three interceptions, three sacks, three forced fumbles.

About Padron: The leader of a defense that held nine opponents to seven points or fewer.

Did you know? Padron, who is a diabetic, also plays golf. He has a set of left-handed clubs but admits, "I'm honestly terrible."

Keenan Robinson

PLANO EAST, SR., LINEBACKER

Height, weight: 6-3, 215

Key stats: 118 tackles, four tackles for loss, two fumbles caused.

About Robinson: The District 9-5A defensive MVP had a standout season despite battling shoulder and thigh injuries.

Did you know? The Texas recruit loves to cook. His favorite meal is chicken quesadillas.

Christian Scott

SKYLINE, SR., DEFENSIVE BACK

Height, weight: 6-1, 195

Key stats: 65 tackles, four interceptions, one returned for touchdown.

About Scott: As a free safety, he led a defense that allowed a 5A area-best 211.3 yards per game.

Did you know? Scott likes to bake cakes and cookies, a skill he learned from a cousin.

Cody Gambill

About Haynes: A free safety who combined intelligence with a good nose for the football, he was named the District 6-5A defensive MVP.

Did you know? Haynes said film study was a big part of his game. Based on the formation, Haynes said he could tell what a receiver was going to do just by looking at his eyes or hands.

Danny Hernandez

MOLINA, SR., KICKER/PUNTER

Height, weight: 5-9, 185

Key stats: Kicked five field goals from 50 yards or more, including a DISD- record 57-yarder. Averaged 39 yards per punt.

About Hernandez: Also a receiver and defensive back, Hernandez was a big part of Molina's first playoff appearance.

Did you know? Hernandez nearly gave up football to concentrate on soccer. Now he's being recruited as a kicker.

Whitmire is an idiot. How can William Cole not be on either team. He should have been AP 5A MVP.

Cole was awesome in leading Cedar Hill to the title.

He should have been the Utility back on one of the teams, if not the first team QB.
