I was looking in to what level of school these teams are (NAIA) and found that both games are exhibition games and won't count towards our record. Is it just me or is it stupid to play these types of games mid-season when you could risk injuring a player?

I've heard that before, MGBuzz. But, I don't think it's correct information. For one thing, I think you can only play one exhibition, and we've already played ours (Texas College).

Like I said, I've heard that before....but don't think it's correct. Well, I'll say this, I bet that we consider them regular games, and they will count against our record. Maybe JCC and Belhaven consider them exhibitions. Is that possible???

They may or may not count against our record, but since they are not D1A they will not count with any of the major rating services (Sagarin, etc.). I would prefer to see us take on a lower tier mid major if they are going to book body bag games. At least we will benefit in terms of stats.

To SUMG: On both Belhaven and Jarvis Christians schedule they are listed as exhibition games. They aren't listed as such for us, so I'm not sure...

To Chris: I agree. I would much rather see a lower D1 school on the schedule rather than a NAIA team.

Guys....don't get me wrong....I wish we were playing Division I opponents, too.

These kind of games really don't help you in the long run. As you say, they don't even count in Sagarin and other RPI ratings.

I heard that in the 1970s someone from Jarvis Christian vandalized our campus and made Hayden Fry carry them around the track at gun point on all fours until the rider fell asleep. Don't sleep on this game...

It's payback time, mother f$#$%$%$s!!!!!

I think these games are ment to keep the team sharp and thats it. No matter who we schedule there will be only a few fans. Then we are in the start of Belt play. So these games are better then practice but not as tough as a real game. If JJ wanted to he could try new things and have players like Mangrum or both Harolds play big minutes and still get an easy win.
