Brees. LT is the offensive player of the year, no doubt. But take him off the Chargers and that is still a solid playoff team with an excellent running back and offense in general. Take Brees off the Saints and they might marginally be better than the sad team they were last season.

LT is the Chargers offense. I would say that take LT off the team the Chargers are .500 at best. It would be easier to replace Brees in NO than LT in SD.

LT is the best offensive player in the game, thus why he is the offensive POY. That doesn't translate into Most Valuable Player. The Saints went from a pathetic 3-13 team to division champion in one year. A lot of credit must go to Payton, which is why he is the Coach of the Year, but there is a reason he brought in Brees. LT is having one of the best offensive seasons in NFL history, but the Chargers would still be a very good team without him. They have an outstanding defense and Michael Turner isn't some kind of spare. The Chargers would survive without LT and still make the playoffs, the Saints are a 3-13 team without Brees.

Agreed. Turner could start for alot of NFL teams , easy. I don't even know who NO's backup is. LT will probably get the MVP because he is the best player on the best team. If the award was actually given to the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER , then it's got to be Brees.

LT had more offense by himself tonight than the rest of the Chargers combined. Turner could not have done that. Without LT they would have to rely more on Rivers and they could not have carried the load. Brees is good but the turn around is more on Payton than Brees.
