I was following the UAB coaching vacancy because I had heard they were also considering a high school head coach (Hoover High's Rush Propst). Today I check the old reliable source http://www.footballscoop.com/scoop.htm and read that UAB's first choice apparently is the guy that's interviewed for every open coaching position, Jimbo Fisher, and their second choice is none other than PMG's favorite coach, Rick Neuheisel. It's the first time I've seen his name mentioned this year.

UAB: We hear Jimbo Fisher is the top choice. Rick Neuheisel is probably the second choice. Other coaches that are probably further down the “list” are David Cutcliffe, John Neal (current Secondary coach at Oregon and former Defensive Coordinator/ Secondary Coach/ Recruiting Coordinator for UAB) and Tyrone Nix (Defensive Coordinator at South Carolina ).
