First, let me say if there is a topic on this, sorry. The search function doesn't seem to work for me and I didn't want to sift through they 8 million posts recently.

But do we have any figures on TD's salary?

I see Scottie is reporting 4 years and $2 million. He has two sources.

I wonder if it is like a lot of other college coaches where the base is lower and then there are a lot of incentives.

"Dodge to join UNT as head football coach

Todd Dodge, one of the most winning coaches in Texas history, will become head football coach at UNT Dec. 26. Dodge’s contract, which was signed Dec. 12 and begins Dec. 26, runs through August 2012 with a base salary beginning at $185,000 and increasing to $230,869 in 2012. Dodge, 43, is widely respected as one of the nation's most successful high school football coaches for his winning record at Carroll High School in nearby Southlake, Texas.

Listen to KNTU FM's broadcast of the press conference.

Read media reports about Dodge's appointment."

This excerpt is from the NT Inhouse Newsletter. It states his current base and what it grows to through 2012. Dosen't mention incentives...which I'm sure the contract is laden with.

Hope this helps to clear up some of the speculation.

The pay is lower than I expected but a really good deal for us. I predict that if he starts filling Fouts and drawing donors for the new stadium, then he'll be given a new, much improved contract (and he'll be worth every penny of it).

Dodge’s contract, which was signed Dec. 12 and begins Dec. 26, runs through August 2012 with a base salary beginning at $185,000 and increasing to $230,869 in 2012. In addition, he will be compensated an additional $75,000 each year for maintaining UNT’s NCAA certification, NCAA Division I level and Sun Belt Conference Membership; completing the season including any post-season NCAA-sanctioned bowl games; and participating in all required radio appearances.

Additional incentives include those for:

• increased season ticket sales

• conference championships and post-season bowl games

• academic achievement of players

• win-loss record

• Top 25 ranking in the Associated Press Poll and ESPN/Coaches Poll

• Coach of the Year for the Sun Belt Conference and/or National Coach of the Year for the Division I Coaches Association.
