Holy cow! I am finally on the GoMeanGreen.com Yeah!!! Here is my bio-

I am a big NT fan, ever since I saw my first NT game in Sept '68.

Earned my degree in Health Physical Education, Biology minor Dec '73

Graduated from South Oak Cliff-1967.

I live in Grand Prairie now, and I am in the freight transportaion business.

Side note of interest, Jerry Moore, the headfootball coach of Appalachian State, is my cousin.

My thoughts on the known FB coach candidates:

Todd Dodge--Known throughout the state, runs a exciting offense. I beleive Dodge

can be successful as HC and could recruit the top tier players.

I beleive he will need 2-3 years to develop his offense.

Jimbo Fisher--Successful college experience, using some of the most talented

players in the country. Until he is in Villarreal's office, I will not

beleive he is really interested in NT.

Jim Harbaugh--Very good background, knows football. No major college experience

though. I really do not think the Texas kids will know him-so maybe

the kids fathers could fill in the gaps. Don Stock was a NFL QB also-

Look at Stock's success at FIU. Apparently, Harbaugh knows quality

assistant FB coaches, which is a big plus.

Jerry Glanville--I do not think he fits the mold that RV wants.

If I had to pick one today, Todd Dodge first, Jim Harbaugh second. I also beleive

there are 1 or 2 other candidates in the mix that we do not know about. I guess we

will just have to wait and keep guessing.

Welcome!

A few things to watch out for on posting!

Don't drink and post! Many posters go out for a bender and come back and treat this as a personal blog site!

Do not mistype anything. You will be corrected.

It takes some time to get " street cred". So be patient. Also throw in some light-hearted opinions.

But when you are ready! Really ready! then throw down with some spice. Make it hot! Don't hold back! Get us talking. You are only sucessful when you have a topic reach 25 replies.

Green Members=100 replies ... (never got that high, yet)

Do not hi-jack posts, that is an aweful habit on this board.

Finally watch out for these people:

Quoner === is always funny / sarcastic

Pollock === is usually to the point and thought out.

Plumm === is hilarious and die hard, but some think he is crazy

John Denver===is the man! But loves Meager and Dickey wink.gif

eeally: You forgot Green Grenade II.

And hijacking posts can be an art form when bored/drunk enough. Like interpretive dance or a Spandua Ballet album.

As for grammar Nazis - no one wants a Rhodes Scholar level of accuracy, but it really doesn't reflect well on the ol' diploma when students and alumns consistently fail to comprehend the basics of the beautiful English language. I screw up all the time, I just edit. I also sanitize and drink my own urine.

Finally, don't forget to sport wood for JQ - the man is once in a life time.

Aloha and welcome.

I vote that this post should be adopted into the GMG man-law books.

Very good rules and advice. Very pithy. Suitable for framing.

Pretty darn good assessment, charlie nt73.

Good to have another astute and knowledgable follower of D1-A college football on this board.

Don't be shy to use all the letter size features and color ammenities on this board. I don't think Harry mean't them only for my usage. huh.gif

Writing long posts will increase your keyboarding WPM, but might cause carpetunnel (sp?) syndrome.

Use lose when you should use "loose" and use loose when you should use "lose" and you'll be just fine and universally accepted. Try to avoid lose women, though, as they can cause any man to loose much.

GMG! (whoops, wrong color) wink.gif

I guess this is the place to introduce myself to the GoMeanGreen crew. I have been reading this board since I knew I was going to come to UNT and figured after three years I might as well sign up. My name is Ry Beck, as noted off to the side there "their, they're". I am in my first of two senior years and am looking forward to one more season of student section football. I just finished my term as VP for Delta Sigma Phi and am also a member of Order of Omega and NT40. I think that about sums it up, I look forward to being a part of GoMeanGreen.com.
