I was just reviewing this schedule myself, when it occurred to me that there are a LOT of bowl games this season. With the addition of several new bowls for the 2006-07 season, a total of 64 teams receive bowl bids this year. That's over HALF of the 119 D-1A schools.

Is it asking too much for us to expect UNT to be bowl eligible every year and to be disappointed if we're not in the top half of D-1A schools at season's end? I think not.

Let me see, here in the Phoenix I've got the choice of the Insight Bowl on the 29th (Texas Tech vs. Minnesota); The Fiesta Bowl on the Jan 1 (Boise St vs. OU); and the BCS Championship on Jan 8th (Ohio St vs. Florida).

Wonder which games I'll attend. I'm only six miles from the UofP Stadium. Tough decisions rolleyes.gif

I am curious, which will you attend? I would go to the bowl with Boise in it. By the way, I work for UOP... kinda cool that we have a stadium but no football team, lol.

The Fiesta Bowl looks like a keeper. I spent a year at OU before I transfered to NT. But I might cheer for Boise cause they deserve a shot at the bigtime. (Just like we will someday)

The University of Phoenix gets a lot of publicity out of their tie in with the stadium. I go to Cardinal games there now and its worth a trip to see the inside of the place. Locals like to call it You-Pee Stadium but as we know so well, any publicity is worthwhile.

If im not mistaken the Insight bowl is being played in Tempe at Sun Devil Stadium (the former home of the fiesta bowl and cardinals)

Actually Tempe is right next to Phoenix. Like Glendale you can drive from one to the other and never leave the builtup area. Both stadiums are near Loop 101 and you can just stay on that road.
