hmm he must have been disappointed to be choice number 50. blink.gif

In all seriousness I could not have seen him leaving West Texas where he has spent his whole life.

I understand he has done good things with their program, but seriously would anyone see him as a good hire?

Hard working, good public speaker, runs an exciting offense, is from Texas, knows a lot of (and is probably respect by) High School coaches.

I believe my answer to that question would be YES.

Yes, a lot of the fan who have been around football for many years know he would have been a great coach. But, it was always a long shot that he’d move to a metro area after spending his life in West Texas.

Are you serious? He would be a huge hire for us. With that, he would probably bring a lot of his staff with him. He has recruited Texas for years and has an exciting offense. Too bad he turned us down.

Come on man, I think all of us respect Coach Carthel and what he has accomplished but saying he would be a huge hire for us is a stretch.

Also, please remember that Footballscoop is not the gospel and sometimes very inaccurate. I would find it very hard to believe he would turn down an interview request with us.

I don't believe anything I read on this site. Here's an example of how little they know:

Saturday November 25th  2006

Iowa State: We hear that Brian Kelly has been hired at Iowa State.  However newspaper article states Central Michigan head coach Brian Kelly told The Detroit News this week he's expecting to be offered a contract extension and a raise to stay with the Chippewas after his current deal expires in December of 2007.  We know that Nebraska offensive coordinator Jay Norvell and University of San Diego head coach Jim Harbaugh were told this week they no longer were in the running for the ISU job. Both men interviewed with Athletic Director Jamie Pollard in Dallas last week and were considered serious candidates.

Two days later the announcement was made that ISU had hired Gene Chizik. Footballscoop.com didn't even have him listed as a possible candidate.
