Just goes to show how 2 pretty even teams back then went in such different directions tho. Maybe in 18 years it will be us playing for the National Championship ??

Uh, not Two Even teams at all.  Just one over achiever that got the shaft that night.  North Texas had a much better season that year than tU did.  Great team, great attitude, great coach.

Rick

Texas was still a good team back then, they lost 4 games that year (Arkansas,Tech,Baylor, and A & M ) by a total of 11 points. From that point they have only had 2 losing seasons 89' ( 5-6) & 91 ( 5-6 ). My point was that there was a time , not that long ago , where we were on the same level of UT. My expections and I hope everyone else's , is that someday I think we should be the ones playing for a National Championsip. smile.gif
