Yes he has a good situation, but many coaches say the hardest coaching is once you have gotten to the top....to keep your kids focused to keep on winning.  You don't move up a classification and go 58 - 1 and not be a great coach, no matter where you are.  Now does that transition to him being a good coach for us, who knows.  But as it stands now, this debate of whether he would be good here is a moot point, RV appears to have no plans of contacting him, which is probably just as well, as I really don't see a guy like Dodge being able to put up with RV.

what has RV done in this process that has soured you to the point you're at lately?

It's obvious that you don't seem to be so close to the situation. Here's why it is obvious to me:

1. You think RV and Todd Dodge haven't talked to each other.

2. You think Todd Dodge wouldn't get along with RV.

3. If you knew either one, I am positive you would hold your tongue.

Just sit back and relax before I go and buy you a 'jump to conclusions' mat.

Understand that how these processes usually go is...:

-The alumni don't make the decisions and it's a damn good thing too.

-This is the reason RV gets paid: to make decisions.

-Things aren't public until they are made public, so all we hear is rumors and speculation until a decision has been made (lets everyone save face) because there isn't as much scrutiny (even though there is a shit load now.. before anything is for certain).

-Let him do his job and hate on him later.

And didn't someone on this board say that the Dallas Cowboys even made an inquiry about Todd Dodge's availability for one of their assistant jobs at one point? blink.gif

Had that happened then you have one coming from a very successful Texas HS football program to the NFL? ohmy.gif

But coming from a very successful TX HS FB program to UNT is not do-able? rolleyes.gif That sounds like the UNT kind of thinkin' many of us have become accustomed to for about the last 2 1/2 decades when it has become HFC hiring time in Denton. sad.gif

Will still defer to the signature below:

Emitt01,

Allow me to voice my thoughts re: your TD concerns.

The guy can coach, he will be able to recruit, he can communicate with anyone relating to winning football, he is a WINNER! If he has any interest in being HC at UNT and we pass. It will be our loss. Yes, there are other qualified candidates out there. No one will have more success than TD. Any more questions.
