BOR Meeting

Recommended Posts

I seem to remember reading in a post that the BOR was meeting this Friday.  Does anyone know if this is true and where to locate the agenda?  The agendas have been posted in the past or links to them.

Go to Texas Secretary of State and search Open Meetings. The agendas are there for their meeting today and tomorrow.

"Consideration of matters related to the appointment of a Head Football Coach and possible action"

This what you're looking for?  It's at the very bottom of the agenda. dry.gif

I think this very much relates to the current coaching search. This could be the "permission to hire" needed by RV if he finds the right coach for the right price (as signed off on by the BOR). If the job has to be advertised for 30 days and the BOR gives it's approval to contract stipulations then we could see some action very soon after this meeting. Could any specific names come up at this meeting? ph34r.gif

It also mentions Deliberations about Gifts and Donations. Here's what the Texas Code says:

Section 551.073 provides as follows:

A governmental body may conduct a closed meeting to deliberate a negotiated contract for a prospective gift or donation to the state or the governmental body if deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the governmental body in negotiations with a third person.

So they are gonna have a closed door talk about a prospective donor.

Per the agenda, this BOR meeting could:

1. approve the next football coach

2. Dismiss LJ

3. Approve the donation that funds the stadium

WOW. Time to buy a lottery ticket.

If all that happened, Harry better find extra back-up capacity for this site!
