I have my gut feeling that someone like Dirk Kotter would be a viable option. The main reason is, he is owed $2.85 million from Arizona State. His base salary here at UNT does not to be that much, or can be incentive based the first few years and then a higher base later on in his contract. From what I read from Kotters contract with ASU, they can either pay him one lump sum or pay him monthly until his contract expires in 2009. His base at ASU was $950,000. Just imagine taking that extra $230,000 and using towards incentives or toward top notch assistant coaches. Just a thought I was having.

I'd vote a big NO. Heard ASU stories from a local parent of a former player. Let's just say Koetter was not exactly player-friendly and ASU was very close to being Thug-U . dry.gif

I like a lot of these coaches that are getting turned loose, but the problem is, they can probably get on as OC or DC with bigger schools for more money than we can pay them. I think Shula is good coach. I have no idea what Bama is thinking.

As long as they will be talented thugs, bring him in.
