I dont know who we are going to entice since only 19 schools pay their coaches less than we paid a coach who had won 4 straight titles. (hit the total tab to rank all D1 coaches by total compensation)

We can load the contract with tons of incentives, based off how the coach can bring in revenue for the program. Our base salary might not be very high, but with the location of the school, the nearly endless supply of talent, and a lot of room for growth, we're an attractive job for a coach looking to break into "big time."

Well well... Looks like Mr Dickey was in breach of contract under section 4.2.4.  rolleyes.gif

4.2.4 (if proved) and under 5.2 is not entitled to any settlement or compensation. Question is ... if determined to be in violation of 4.2.4, is it worth half a mil to avoid the publicity strict adherence to 5.2 would bring? Or, did he wait to have settlement agreement in hand before allegedly violating 4.2.4? Hmmmmm.

My comment was mostly a joke. Mr Dickey was not fired for 4.2.4. He was fired for 2-9 and 3-9. laugh.gif
