you guys are such babies. no one crapped a brick at florida state when they wore black unis and lost. no one questioned there school loyalty even though their o coordinator got fired. how many teams around the nation have alternate black jerseys? at least they wearnt one of our old secondary colors, we could have been in navy or baby poop orange. thanks all you posting that were here in 95, those two colors look f'n awesome. as to the quality of the unis, they were supposed to be the same as our regular ones but there was problem with the manufacturing company. dickey had promised them to us and kept his word, he did the best he could. as for the black pants they should definately stay, the jerseys were a one time deal. but the pants are a good contrast to the green jerseys. all of you making a huge deal out of this, cry me a river, the team still loves the fans and the university if you think any differently your nuts

*sigh* Again, it's not the fact that they're black jerseys. It's that there were no identifying markers on them to display that they were for North Texas or affiliated with the NCAA or Sun Belt. If there was a problem with the manufacturing company and the jerseys didn't appear as promised, don't wear them. If there are no financial reprecussions, fine. But if there are, then Dickey is still at fault, regardless of his motives, because he made a decision that caused the university to get fined.

If the black jerseys were okay, then why did you come out and practice in the green ones? Give me the rationale behind that one, and I'll accept it and move on.

he was definately pulling one over on rick v but it was because the players wanted it. and there are lots of other schools with no names on the unis. and some without school logos.

There are other D1 schools that actually play games without any school logo or name on their unis? Who are they? Pretty dumb idea.

Hmm.. this is a good one. Penn State and Michigan come to mind first... who else? Seems like there are several - most just have the tiny logo at the neckline.

You are right, thanks Caribbean. Let me now rephrase my question. Are there any D1 schools, that have uniforms that are not in their respective school colors who don't have the school name or univeristy logo on them?

From the Penn State website:

Blue and White

"Penn State's student-athletes are instantly identified by their blue and white uniforms - but those weren't the original school colors. A three-member committee representing the sophomore, junior and senior classes was appointed in October of 1887 to develop color options from which the student body would select the school's official colors. Dark pink and black was the unanimous choice of the student body after considering the color combinations presented by the committee.

Soon many students and the baseball team were sporting pink and black striped blazers and caps. However, problems arose when the pink faded to white after several weeks of exposure to the sun. The students then opted for blue, rather than black, and white. The official announcement of the new choice was made on March 18, 1890"

Penn State doesn't need a logo to be recognized because they don't change colors.
