sad.gif DD did it again -- don't play to win play to keep a lead until you lose. Nine painful years thank god he's gone.

Yep. Typical DD play calling. 10 in the box. Quinn has 1 on 1 coverage no safety in sight for 3, yes, 3 plays in a row and DD runs the ball. I'm sorry I don't care who you are if I have Quinn 1 on 1 with no safety I pass ever single time. He would have easily gone for a TD.

This just solidified that DD really is the worst coach in D1A football.

My message to Dickey. This game specifially your play calling in the 4th quarter is EXACTLY what got you fired. Not the recruiting. Not your fan bashing. Nothing else but your play to lose play calling.

Once again, trailing with less then 3 minutes left: Run, run, pass, run, INT.

Let the Todd Dodge era begin!!!

Last drive play calling was run run run pass (on 4th down) run run INT on a horrible pass play call. I don't know what junior leage coach he saw call that play but it needs to go back to the junior league.

Appropriate ending for a team wearing those god awful, worse than junior high school uniforms.  Worked well with the play calling.

We looked like a junior high team for sure. What an embarrasment!

I hope DD is asked not to coach the last game. Happy Trails you SOB.

I always thought he had some sorriness, know I know he has truckloads of it.

The whole black stunt should be viewed as gross insubordination and Dickey should have his contract completely negated.

As in UNT should not pay DD another red cent.

Hard to argue with that.

Then RV should have DD box up all his belonging first thing Monday morning and have him escorted off campus.

I noticed that RV was missing for a while during the game. He might have boxed up DD's stuff during the game. Can't you hear the conversation at the AC right now?

Hopefully RV is being bombarded with e-mails and voice messages regarding the black uniforms, if he did have a say on the uniforms then it is even more embarassing.

Just curious could the Black Tops also be a Conference violation or did they have the SunBelt/NCAA logos if they are even required, so anyone know?

I think that if RV was involved in the black uni's that the team wouldn't have wamed up in the green jersey's. It was a subversive move.

I heard that RV didn't know about them. Also, that it was team's idea to show support for DD and revolt against the administration. No way I let DD on the bus to Monroe! We are the Mean GREEN, not the Mean Machine from "the Longest Yard". mad.gif

If the team decided they wanted to wear all black, fine. However, DD should have said, "Thanks guys, for the show of support, but it's not appropriate, so please don't do it."

Also, if it was entirely the players' idea, did they all pony up for the jerseys or did someone fund them? Either way, if DD had control of the team, he could have and should have stopped it. They lost all the support from the stands when they walked out on that field in those jerseys.

Not being mean to the players but if they loved DD so much, they can leave their scholarships at the door also before or after ULM, particularly many of the starters who have been outplayed by 2nd and 3rd stringers.

I don't know if I buy that. I've heard so many stories about the players having zero respect for the coaching staff. And why would the players show such loyalty to a losing coach? And who paid for the jerseys? And who on the coaching staff approved it?

No, I think Dickey's hands were all over this.

I agree. I was cheering and screaming as always until they walked out in those uniforms. I cheered for JQ during the senior presentation. I watched half the first quarter but didn't stand or ever cheer. I left after that because I felt the university and its fans had been disrespected in such heartless fashion.

That would make me happy as can be. I'd like to get a custom t-shirt and wear it to class in defiance with Dickey. I have class with 2 senior players, very nice guys and gracious, but I think a senior should go out in no jersey at all before putting a jersey his coach decides to make a statement with. Darrell Dickey did not pay any one of their tuitions. The University of North Texas did and our colors are Green and White.

I don't see why DD would want to spend his money on something this stupid. I would not be surprised if MM had a hand in this one. Either way, it's definitely something DD condoned and encouraged. Completely out of line and completely classless.

A student in the stands told me that they were a set of practice uniforms. I make no representation of the credibility of this statement. I am only relaying what I heard.
