Someone went to ebay and bid up all the PS3s to outrageous amounts. They didn't actually sell for those prices...

Hahahaha...no.

I remember I was in California the weekend of the PS2 release. Walking through the malls that following week, you'd see shady looking-asian guys (similar to me, but more shady) standing in alcoves holding PS2 boxes, selling them for like, $700 or something.

If anything, I'm grabbing a Wii since it's a lot less expensive and I liked what the stylus did for the DS...so I'm sure the motion/location sensitive Wii controller will be a hit, too. There's only so far a big graphics-hog machine can offer before you realize you're still using a conventional controller.

Then, I'm getting a PS3 sometime early in 2008.
