Ok, your Villareal fired a coach one year removed from bringing us 4 four Sunbelt championships and honored us as he was “Coach of the year” 4 times.

He was not fired because of wins/losses but because of a personal vendetta!

Folks the wrong man was fired and we can blame our new president for buying into the pitiful RV and not investigating the situation.

Rick’s timing is very typical of a person infatuated with removing DD and not worried about the consequences. Now RV is now guaranteed to go down as one of the worst ADs ever.

Why would one fire him before the end of the season?

It does not strengthen the search for a replacement nor does it have any positive effects on our players.

Remember it should be about the players!

Again this was not done for any other reason than a personal vendetta against Dickey as usual RV shows his true colors and they are more yellow than green.

If RV wanted Dickey out that badly, we'd already have a different coach. But my guess is that RV wanted to give him another shot...

Since Dickey's first 3 years were spent rebuilding the program, he got cut a break from the old AD and from RV. Then, DD posted the SBC championship seasons, but also failed to produce in OOC games, including games that many believe should have been won. Last year, Dickey went 2-9, so RV figured that every coach gets a season to stumble.

This season, Dickey looks to have just plain fallen over. The way the LaTech game went was evident of this, as that game as well as most games this season should have been wins.

And for RV's rep as athletic director---

He's done a lot here. He's brought tailgating back in force, he's got pregame events going, the giant pep rallies on Fridays before home games, there's promotions for every sport now, as well as new facilities for the football team, women's soccer, softball, and volleyball. He's helped clean up the OOC schedule with games against teams we can actually have a chance winning against, and along with Dr Pohl, RV's changed the feel of the university as a whole.

Do you even know how it was in the Helwig era? All I caught was the tail-end of it, and that alone was just plain ugly.
