FIU football coach Strock to resignBY PETE PELEGRIN

ppelegrin@miamiherald.com

Florida International University football coach Don Strock, whose team is 0-9 and mired in the longest losing streak in the team's young history, will resign after the season.

Strock, who has a 15-38 record since the Golden Panthers began playing in 2002, will coach the team's final three games, starting with Saturday's home game against Louisiana-Lafayette.

Strock, a former Dolphins quarterback, was named FIU director of football operations in 1999 and head coach in 2000.

The Golden Panthers have played solidly defensively this season but the offense is ranked near the bottom of most NCAA Division I categories.

Well, at least he owns their longest winning steak as well. So at least he has that going for him....which is nice.

I don't blame Strock for the team's record...he did have a 'very difficult situation' to handle day in and day out.
