that's pathetic, but that is on the NCAA and Courts allowing this garbage. College Athletes unless they are entering the draft do not need an agent, much less negotiate a deal? WTF has happened to amateur sports. I hope TN balks at the demands and he walks away. -

Could UNT go undefeated this year in FB?
I'm not sure how I could say it any clearer than I already did. We didn't win the one game he played in. It's a team game, but you know that. We have an Air Raid coach, so the QB is always going to have to outplay a porous defense that can't tackle or perform basic fundamentals. Maybe this new DC comes in and does something that hasn't been done anywhere else? If not, then Mestemaker has to not throw picks at the end of one score games....which is what happened in the bowl game. -

Coaches have always been able to leave in the dark of night, though. Head D1 football and basketball coaches are a different breed. Best rule of thumb is never get too close, cause they will eat their young if it means winning or climbing the ladder. There are exceptions, but that's the rule. I don't know the situation, but sounds like that may have been the case here. Stick with UNT, your alumni brethren, and don't let these clowns get to you. As far as NIL goes, I'm not sure it isn't sustainable. Paired with unlimited free transfers, though? That's where the problem lies. P5 programs have been cheating and paying players for 100 years. So it's absolutely proven to be sustainable. Difference is you got to know the players you were paying were going to stay and be loyal. Now it's highest bidder every year. Fewer big money donors are going to be ok with that transaction. Contracts are coming, I have to think... -

Brock Vice in Portal
Yes I agree with you there is a difference between main rotation and guys getting minutes in games with big leads. My point is get guys regular minutes early on in the season and they could develop into rotation guys later on. I also think we're cherry picking here on what being part of the rotation here. You watch some NBA games and you'll see guys get 0 minutes one game and 20 the next based on the match-up. That doesn't mean they're not part of the rotation. Just means the coach may feature different guys for tactical reasons. By the way, here's UCONN's 23-24 player stats. Look at how many guys played in 30+ games. -

I guess it could be worse… Tennessee’s Qb skipped practice today in a “contract dispute” over wanting more NIL. I think their spring game is tomorrow, lol.………. “The day before the winter portal window closed in December, sources told ESPN that Iamaleava's representatives wanted to renegotiate his deal in the $4 million range, but his deal was unchanged. He's expected to make $2.4 million with the Vols this year, sources said. With the portal set to open Wednesday, Iamaleava's representatives were again looking for $4 million, and sources told ESPN that Tennessee "wasn't going to blink and pay him any more money." Iamaleava, the No. 23 overall recruit in the class of 2023, signed a then-unprecedented deal with Tennessee's NIL collective in 2022, one that would pay more than $8 million over his college career, when he committed to the program.”- 1
