I just heard the interview with Matt Phillips. He said that DD designs and calls all Green Team plays and.....get this: DD only gives them 3 plays and if they don't get a first down using them, they are pulled out of the game. Matt Phillips said they play every down like it is their last. Brilliant idea.. it really put some fire under the Green Teams arse.

I have to give DD props on this one... very creative.. I don't think I've ever seen this done before.. a whole team made up of 2nd and 3rd string players... I bet he wishes he did this earlier in the season....

The tech game should have been a win, if he just let the green team stay

shit im going to say it the green should have played the enitre season..

we would still be in the hunt for a bowl game....who cares about a SBC title we all want a bowl game

It's a great idea but if they only have a limited number of plays, opponents will come up with a way to stop them in due time. We haven't made adjustments to defensive schemes all year so why should we now?

Does anyone know if Brewster was in the booth tonigh?

I was at the game tonight and I believe it was Brewster who was on the sidelines. Not sure if I'd recongnize from for away but I'm pretty sure it was Brewster.

The Green Team played hard tonight and looked like a real cohesive unit. Especially the offensive line. With only a few breakdowns, they looked like a solid wall of blockers. It was really fun watching them.

Matt Phillips did a very good job tonight. Still has a nice touch on the ball, especially the touchdown pass. Plus, he got rid of the ball when he had to a couple of times.

Overall a good, fun game to attend. But man, those Cajun fans are pissed!

the green team should have played the entire season, quote is the dumbest thing i've ever heard, since the last coaching list that came out on this web site. yall are funny, i love laughing...please keep'um coming!

Can we fire him again this week?  I'd like to see a win at home next Sat.

Maybe we could fire an ass. ( i dont really need the period there laugh.gif ) coach for the next 2 weeks and get the same results. If so I vote for RV this week , and then Ethridge next week!!!

Good job guys. I could here the "Whose House, Our House" chant in the background which was probably in response to the ULL students badgering the players directly right behind their bench again, as usual. It must suck to know our 2nd and third string offense did it to them this time. tongue.gif

By the way, we have a ULL grad working with us today at our station.  He's been here before working vacation relief but has never told us that he grew up in Lafayette and attended ULL.

      Eric Morris needs to go

      I am torn on what to do with EM, but I know he needs to go. Many say we need a HC with head coaching experience at the FBS level. I know there are HCs at other FBS programs doing more with less, but would they come to a place where historically it's difficult to win consistently and risk it all if their eye is ultimately on a power conference job? Then if you take a P4 conference former HC, they have most likely been fired and they may not get the mojo back like Tom Herman at FAU or Charlie Strong. So, if that is the case where do we go? Many are saying no FCS HC or no more coordinators who have not been a HC at this level. Again where do we go if not those type of guys? My thought is that you may have to hire that guy that this board has been reluctant to go after. That's the guys who have had issues somewhere else and that's why they are no longer where they are. Lane Kiffin had issues and FAU gave him the chance to resurrect his career. Alabama gave Sarkisian (spelling) a chance to resurrect his career and he is doing good things at Texas. We have tried a lot of things, but we have not tried that route of HCs with some skeletons in their past. I feel that if that coach wins, people will forget about their past. I am sure people at Texas have forgotten about what went down with Sark at USC. Just my opinion because we have been striking out for a long time on HCs.

      I'm not sure what the path is for Cobbs long term. A lot of us would absolutely love to have him in a HC role in Denton, but we want to see him gain HC experience first. Do we take a chance and give him that crown? Do we watch him leave, and possibly not return...ever?
