The thread about Todd Dodge made me think about his vaunted spread offense, and what that would be like at North Texas. I personally believe that North Texas would benefit from using a system like Dodge's or say a Mike Leach. A benefit of the spread is that it can equal the playing field for smaller but quicker teams like North Texas. DD seemed pretty stubborn when it came to spreading the offense out to help create more one on one situations for smaller quicker players like Zach Muzzy or Johnny Quinn. A common mis-conception of the spread is that teams who execute the spread can't run the ball. Actually the spread helps create running lanes by clearing people out of the box, and using the speed of smaller linemen.. Maybe Todd Dodge isn't nesacarrily the idea coach for the job, but someone with his offensive philosophy should be.. Look at how Missouri and Texas Tech can compete with the big dogs despite losing many recruits to the bigger more popular Big-12 teams.. I know this is probably a huge over simplification for a bigger recruiting problem for UNT, but I can't stand seeing UNT line up in these power formations and getting plowed over when the play starts
