I think this time around it will be the RV show and he will do what he thinks is best. And we will either trust him or not.

I don't think it necessarily has to be made with the final say from fans. I have confidence in RV. He's surprised me already, I'm sure I'll be surprised again, in a good way.

I WISH the decision was already made. They are going to create a comittee and drag this out till sometime near spring or summer.

After I posted this I think I saw a thread that said there would be no committee. I hope that is right. This does not need to be dragged out past Christmas.

If RV can hire a Football coach with a similar resume of success that the new tennis coach has, then I will say let RV make the decision along with the Prez.

the thought occured that RV has someone or a few in mind. perhaps he has already been working behind the scenes and has a verbal commit. just working out the details with anouncement coming next week. without a "search committee" he is taking on huge responsibility for the success or failure of his choice. if nothing else, RV has "cajones" (sp?). you know what i mean!

RV has already said in the paper no committee. A friend suggested the timing of the firing was probably set to be after NT was eliminated from the SBC race. Makes sense to me. Also, the job has to posted open for 30 days before it can be filled. So about Dec. 8. Other program's regular season's will be over by then and it would still allow for a couple weeks of recruiting by the new coach before the holiday dead period. Timing is everything with a college football coach fire/hire.
