I also thank RV for making the tough decision, even if in conjunction with DD. It's never an easy decision or situation but this needed to happen for the program.

RV pulled out his 12-pounder and did what many of us predicted he wouldn't be able to! It's time for this program to go in a new direction and RV made it happen.

But in my book Dickey is still a first-ballot UNT athletic hall-of-famer. Thanks for the 4 Sun Belt titles, the New Orleans Bowl win and victories over Baylor, Tx Tech and SMU! Those were awesome.

I know this was not an easy time for RV. It's not a pleasant thing to do, regardless of the situation. Darryl has a place in NT history, for nothing else the 4 bowl appearances.

I think that DD helped turn around the boat, but we needed a change to help keep the boat headed in the right direction.

Thank you DD for the past 9 years at the helm. You have helped shape a new era in Mean Green athletics. Best wishes for the future!
