As long as that is the belief then that is a certain.  I'm proud that dreamers like Louisville, Marshall, Tulane and TCU never think that way.

Why?  What gives you reason to believe he's accountable to performance, let alone his public behavior, since his '02 extension?

Acrobats with safety nets don't have to worry about the ground.

Louisville is in the Big East, a BCS conference. You cannot compare them to UNT. Even when they weren't in the Big East, they were considered a big-time school because of their basketball program.

Marshall, Tulane and TCU will never win a national championship either in the new BCS landscape of college athletics.

UNT, however, can be a team that sneaks into the Top 25 every couple of years. I believe that is achievable under Dickey. We almost did it during the Booger years. The problem is the program has regressed since then, but never fear, Dickey will be given another season to turn it around.

Please tell me what leads you to believe that DD can lead us to the Top 25 when his overall record is abysmal, his national rankings (by Howell which is near the consensus) has been 97, 112, 103, 87, 56, 54, 69, 115 and so far this year we are 110 and he hasn't shown the ability to recruit top players from the area or state?

Dickey didn't coach a perfect game. But in this one instance he coached well enough to win. Blame the current state of the program on him (and I do, too) but UNT lost last Saturday because Matt Phillips threw a pass that was deflected and a LaTech player just happened to be in the right position to intercept it. That's just an unlucky bounce. Some of Dickey's moves in this game (the Green team, playing Matt Phillips, giving James Mitchell carries) remind me that he has been a good coach for this program in the past.

Let's get real. We lost because we couldn't stop loser tech's barage of 15-60 yard passes over the middle, and some other pass plays as well. They abused us when they went into passing mode all night. We had minimal defensive line pressure, and out of position safeties! - A really bad combination. This week we found out that our defense sucks just as bad as our offense!
