New Coach Wish List

Sonny Dykes for all the reasons mentioned in previous posts.

UNT needs that spread passing attack to give it a chance to recruit talented skill players AND get the locals interested and wanting to come watch the games.

Run right, run left, play action pass, punt ain't gonna do it. The spread-run that is so popular ain't gonna do it. UNT needs to air it out...often.

Dykes is the way to go.

Bruce Chambers, Nelson Barnes, Spencer Leftwich, Gary DeLoach

All of these have ties to North Texas and are more than qualified. Applewhite, would be a name with SPLASH, but there is only a couple of years as an assistant to back it up.

Love the offensive innovation the Arkansas coaches have shown this year:

Gus Malzahn

Offensive Coordinator

Renowned Arkansas high school football coach Gus Malzahn joined Arkansas’ staff on Dec. 9, 2005, as offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. He joined the staff following an impressive five-year run at Springdale High School capped by one of the most dominant seasons by any school in 2005.

His squad at Springdale last year went 14-0, won the state’s Class 5A championship, outscored its opponents 664-118, including a 54-20 victory over West Memphis in the state championship game, and was consistently ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation. Included on the championship team were Razorback freshmen Ben Cleveland, Mitch Mustain, Andrew Norman and Damian Williams.

Known for his no-huddle offensive philosophy, he has produced an instructional video and book titled "Hurry Up No Huddle — An Offensive Philosophy."

You have to be cautious with this guy since

he wrote a book and made a video. unsure.gifph34r.gif

Careful, Got5, someone may try to string you up for suggesting a coach from a B©S program that is just one year removed from a top-tier high school program.

Good pick, IMHO.
