Worst part of the game

The worst part of the game came after it probably didn't matter any more.

The score was 29-10. We had the ball and were DRIVING with 7:00 left in the 4th. [i'll concede that 19 points is an insurmountable lead for us, but it shouldn't be for most teams... however, I'll continue] Then we proceeded to blow a minute and a half off the clock on THREE plays.

I can't remember the exact sequence of events, but part of the problem was that Meager requires a minimum of 20 seconds to get a play in and snap the ball. Another absolute bonehead moment was letting the playclock run all the way down, and THEN burning a time-out. WTF.

Other than that....

Meager did pretty well, other than his first grade-level clock management ability.

O-line gave him plenty of time, and did a good job springing Jamario.

Defense sucked.

In our three Sun Belt games we have scored a total of 26 points. I'm not counting the 7 attempts from the 25 yard line in the FIU game (which was like another whole game of possessions with incredible field position!). I belive the offense scored 24 of the 26 which leaves us with a whopping 8 points per game average!

So you are correct, scoring 20 points in 7 minutes would be unheard of. We'd need 3 games to do that. ohmy.gif
