Funny "NT" sightings

So I'm driving back from a political meeting last night (Th) and I passed a tire store on I-35 just north of Switzer road in Lake Dallas/Corinth. The letters were red, but the message was clear. The "D-I-S-C-O" was not working. And the sign read, "UNT TIRE STORE."

I nearly pulled in to see if DD could make me a good deal on a set of Michelins.

And now this morning, I went in the Wallgreen's on University @ N.Elm.

They sell some t-shirts with "Mean Green" across the front in the right color.

But down the asle, were some green polo type shirts with the monogram "Denton Eagles." And as if that weren't bad enough, there were some maroon shirts with "Denton Pioneers." (Pioneers is the nickname for Texas Woman's University)

I mentioned this gaff to the clerk, and she said the pogic was that TWU would not allow them (walgreens) to sell TWU stuff. I don't think she understood my point.

Amazing.

What's next ? The Austin Longhorns or the College Station Aggies ? Or the Akron Zi...nevermind.

Last saturday while stopping at the Kroger on University to buy 'supplies' for the tailgate festivities I found sitting in the beer aisle a heavy duty, green cooler. Forest green, adorned with North Texas workmarks and Son of worm logos on all sides and inside the cover. iT WAS SO COOL!!! It took me about 2 seconds to put it in my cart. I didn't see a price but I don't care how much it was. It would be mine, oh yes it would be mine!

I go to check out and after the price check the store manager comes up to me and tells me the cooler isn't for sale It's part of the floor display set up by Busch beer. I tried to make a deal. Told the guy it's sold just name the price. No dice

At the job yesterday morning, I saw a kid walk in with a green

NORTH TEXAS CROSS COUNTRY t-shirt on.

Never seen one of those!
