moderator: From Chuckles in Southlake: Hey Brett, are you and Dickey close? It seems like you are afraid to rip the program like it should be ripped.

UNT beat writer Brett Vito: No I am not any closer to Dickey than any reporter should be. I report what is going on with the team. If they are playing poorly I say it.

Sports editor Russ Goodall: Brett does a great job of being fair. He is not affraid to pull punches and will tell it like it is. He has a good working relationship with those at UNT, but is not the Mean Green mouthpiece like some in the AD department would like him to be.

I feel like Vito and Goodall should have ended each of their answers with "Umm, yeah, that's the ticket."

Just kind of a big reiteration of what has been said by many for quite a while. Coaches won't change their strategies if their lives depended on it, and Dickey didn't capitalize on the conference championships and bowl games in terms of recruiting. But really, who can blame the coaches? If they get fired it is all political rolleyes.gif
