By BRETT VITO / Denton Record-Chronicle

DENTON – Sophomore quarterback Matt Phillips could play Saturday when UNT hosts Florida International, Mean Green coach Darrell Dickey said Tuesday.

Phillips started the Mean Green's first two games, but was replaced by sophomore Woody Wilson. Wilson led UNT to a win over SMU in Week 2 and has started in UNT's last three games.

The Mean Green has scored just 16 points during that span and ranks 119th (last) nationally in total offense with an average of 177.4 yards a game.

Briefly ...

Linebacker Phillip Graves practiced Tuesday and could return from a preseason knee injury Saturday against FIU. Linebackers Colt Mahan (sprained ankle) and Brandon Monroe (turf toe) are also expected to play.
