Wow... As bad as people talk on this board about Matt Simon, this ought to help the argument of getting rid of Dickey.

Win %'s:

Simon 0.411

Dickey 0.415

The difference is that Dickey was able to put just enough wins together over 4 seasons to win the conference 4 times.

I'm not pro nor con on Simon, but if I remember correctly his riff with the AD was facilities. How would Simon have faired in the Sun Belt of today with the facilities and budget that Dickey works with?

Then again, with todays facilities when Simon was here, would we even be in the SBC? Perhaps the WAC or CUSA? That is, assuming Simon would had a nice Won/Loss record with the current facilities.

If I recall (as stated above), much of the beef with Simon was personality conflicts with the AD's office, etc. Matt has skins on the wall, including a Super Bowl ring. He was in a bad situation... you know how some of us talk about how much better things are now program-wise than back in the mid-late 90's? That's what Simon had to deal with.

I've heard Simon had issues with Helwig over lack of facilities and the number of body bag games Helwig would schedule to fund the program.

Both areas that have been addressed by RV. Just something to consider.

      Easy answer is Coach Hardaway not to get silly fouls. She rarely fouls out anyway so this should be an easy adjustment. I will say this, Hardaway may be one of the best if not the best point guards and ball handlers in the conference.

      UNT Head Coach Brittany Roth’s husband, Ben Roth, and their daughter were in the right place at the right time on Sunday December 22nd, and Roth was able to briefly save a life. Brittany Roth has been the head coach at UNT since 2017 and Ben Roth is a paramedic and firefighter in Plano. They hold season tickets to the Lions games, and Ben Roth told a Detroit Newspaper they try to make “four to five games a year as a family.” At the game on December 22nd between the Lions and the Bears, Ben and their daughter were sitting in club seats he described as “As close as you can be without actually being on the field.” That was when he noticed someone in a North Texas shirt, which was shocking as neither the Lions nor the Bears are based anywhere near Denton, Texas, the location of UNT.       You missed his point entirely. He’s not talking about having another“but Denton hates us” pity fest. if the same people (or just half of them) who can manage to make it to Datcu to watch a sub .50 team would make it literally across the street to the pit to watch a team that has won 🏆, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
