ParksAndRecRick's Ramblings....I was one of the few non parents who went to Akron last Saturday. Frankly, I'm sorry we didn't have a Mean Green Travel Package to Akron/Canton. With the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland it would have been a fun and affordable trip for many of the Mean Green faithful......Another interesting point was that the All-American Soap Box Derby was located adjacent to The Rubber Bowl. I bet everyone remembers that. Pretty neat.........The fans were interesting. They had a beer garden attched to the Stadium and at half virtually every student made the trip. The Stadium was a CCC project, built in the 30s. The lights were on the field which was very unusual, but it had grand site lines. They are hoping for a new stadium in six years as well.....I know many of you don't care about this, but all the way through the game the entire team was on its feet and willing the Mean Green to come back. I saw no player throw in the towel. And, for a break here or there, we might have had the same finish of the Irish last Saturday....Jamario looked GRAND! Great effort. His run up the middle was a vintage Patrick Cobbs!....Woody was a step from breaking a big play at least 3 times.....What about those special teams blocks. They had to hurry all the punts in the second half.....It will be GRAND to get Graves back. He is a big time defensive player for the Green.....Anyway, I'm excited about Saturday. For those who haven't seen our games against Middle Tennessee, it is a GRAND rival for the Mean Green now. It was this game that started our GRAND conference winning streak. I remember going over to the Bondfire after that game. It was a GRAND feeling....I believe the power of the GREEN will be a-blazing on Saturday!....Don't forget the Mean Green March at 4pm as we welcome the MEAN GREEN to the Start of the Sunbelt Conference Race!......Ain't Easy to Be Green, But Sure is FUN!!!!!

Thanks for the information Rick. It is nice to have some positive comments from the game.

I never did get a chance to say Thank You for helping me book our day at Lone Star Park in the suite that we won. It was AMAZING! And we can't wait to go back.

If you are planning a raffle this year at all just holler and I will see what I can do about donating more hotel certificates.

See ya on Saturday!!!

My wife and I had a great night out (a rare night without kids!) using the hotel certificate we won.

Thanks!
