I am a die-hard Mean Green Alum and fan of North Texas. I always will be. That is a fact!

That said, it is very embarrasing to me to talk to any of my longtime friends, who are fans of other universities, about my Mean Green Football team. They always joke about the "Meanie Greenies" and say, "Spears, you are crazy. You root for little ole North Texas, get over it."

I will never get over it. I will be in my season ticket seats, Section D, seats, 1,2,3 and 4, rain or shine this Saturday. Will we win? That would be nice. Will we lose to Middle Tennessee for the first time ever? Probably not.

Will our fans come because of the post-game fireworks? Sure, but I hope there are successful fireworks during the game. Regardless, I will be there.

Unfortunately, there are an increasing number who will choose to stay away until there is a new head football coach. That, sadly, is a fact! I hope the AD and BOR act soon.
