Hmmmmmmm...... smile.gif  Was fishing with my late father on Bastrop Bayou near the Gulf that Fall afternoon when UH routed Tulsa and I also remember Gene Elston calling that unforgettable game (for UH fans, that is) on KPRC radio, too.

Also, I remember a 3'rd or 4'th string UH Coog' named Larry Gatlin (Odessa HS and a future Country Music Hall of Famer) getting to play in that game as well.  Larry G. could sure sing but Larry G. sure couldn't play college football at the NCAA Division 1 level. I think he has said as much himself. smile.gif

Hopefully, we don't give up 100 on Akron.  Surely we will be able to keep the Zips zipped up.  I'm sure our "D" will be on the field for a long time today, though.  But what is so new with that?

And to NT91 I agree to disagree:  NCAA 1-AA would be the death of MG football since we've already been there done that for 12 long years; but how about this unique concept that may have yet to be discussed on this board rolleyes.gifA new athletic staff across the board topped off with a new football coach which would give us all our much needed new direction and fresh start for all who are just worn to a frazzle with all this? wub.gif  wub.gif

Plumm - I am in tears on that "how about this unique concept" statement.

Nice drive.

This game has been way more about our defense not showing up than the offense's stagnation.

Yeah, hopefully those runs by Jamario will end that "jamario's not the same" crap.

Just goes to show that JQ and Jamario have enough talent to overcoem the offensive system they play in.

Why in the "Hades" would you play and then still play a

soft zone against a good passing team. On almost every pass

play the defensive player is no where near the receiver.

We have 126 yards - WOW - that is a win in itself.

Listening to the game on 100.7 FM (Dallas)....

My observation is that WW is making things happen offensively for UNT. The other QB's that we have could not do what WW has done!!

Akron, appears, to do whatever they want with the UNT "D" in BIG yards up the middle, to the left, to the right and over the top. The UNT "D" CAN NOT STOP the ZIP's "O."

Akron has not punted tonight.
