This is not meant to be a slam about your attitude just merely giving another point of view.

One of my favorite cartoons is the Wizard of Id. A few days back there was one where the doctor was telling the old man "the good news is you're 70 years old." The old guy thens says, "what's the bad news?" The doctor says, "so are your knees."

Not everyone has the body of a 20, 30 or 40 year old. There are some whose knees and/or back will not tolerate standing for that long but they still love football. Ideally, maybe they could be moved to where they can see. But, they paid for a seat, not a place to stand. In fact, some of us oldsters pay an extra $25 for a chairback so that we can sit.

Again, if standing floats your boat by all means go for it but courtesy would be to find a place where you can stand with others that also want to stand or does not obstruct the view of others who can't.

Oh i understand that, but nobody in my section had any problems standing up they just didnt want to they would rather talk about other things and jump up when the fireworks went off. i bet a lot of these people stood in line for 20 minutes to get hotdogs.

I guess we should be happy that there are enough fans at a game to have to debate standing versus sitting. However, I am on the side of those that want to stand and cheer - DO IT! I'd rather have to look AROUND someone because I am sitting, rather than having no one around me at all. Go MEAN GREEN!

I have never understood this fan standing macho thing. What does this accomplish other than making it impossible for many people to see the game much less be comfortable? Not only do a lot of people old and young not want to stand up a whole game, many people who are vertically challenged can't see at all if everyone is standing. I guess short people, children, people with health problems, and yes even lazy people should not go to games because it offends those fans that for some reason think it is manitory to stand the whole game.

If standing is something you got to do go to the student side or end zones and have a blast.

That's my parents. They helped raise the money for initial construction of Indian Stadium before it opened in 1974 and have had the same seats there since it opened. They are fans but they just can't stand as much as some around us. They tend to save their standing for plays when the opponent is facing 3rd down.

"Festival Seating"/mosh pits started this phenomena in the 1980's. It really killed going to live concerts, because what was once floor seating is now "Festival Seating", and the kids have grown up with it. Promoters love it, because they can cram more sardines in.

I went to a HS game last year with my 60+ year old parents and was one of the first groups in the section I went to. A group of kids came in and proceeded to stand in front of us. There was no one in front of them for 5-6 rows. They never sat down. I told them they needed to sit down, or move down to where their 'standing buddies' were, closer to the field. The bad thing is, is that now if you don't stand the entire game, you're considered less of a fan.

Any way you slice it, it's rude. I expect people to stand and cheer for big plays or exciting stuff, but sit the hell down if you have a seat--or go stand at Pyle field.
