Steelers Notebook: Steelers beef up at RB

Cobbs, inactive for the 28-17 season-opening victory Thursday night against Miami, was released to make room for Davenport. If Cobbs clears waivers, the Steelers will try to re-sign him to their practice squad.

That's great, either way. He should at least be on a practice squad, and maybe get picked up by another team if someone claims him.

That makes sense. So long as Patrick can catch on somewhere.

Plus (as I was noted in a different thread) that PC will be available for other teams to sign off the practice squad if needed.

i understand why teams would not want to invest too much in cobbs going into this season.... but after his preseason preformance, where he proved he could make plays. why wont anyone take a chance on him on their roster?

Cobbs is borderline and will do well on the PS. I am just really glad he will end up somewhere and progress.
