Other than the kettle korn, the safeway parking lot would be a much more comfortable venue to see the game, with better sight lines also.

Matt Simon wanted to play SMU when he was coach here and they would not schedule UNT, so he challenged them to a game in the parking lot one day in the public.....many on here should remember that.

Danish-The point was that Matt Simon had a "Southern Mississippi" attitude toward plauying SMU. He wanted to play them "any time, any placce." Even if it were in a "Safeway Parking lot."

note to younger posters: Safeway was a large grocery chain much like Kroger or Albertson's. They scaled back their nationwide precence and now are mainly located in the Rocky Mountains and the west.
