Walter Chapman was the best defensive lineman of the Fry teams. Why he is not in the NT hall of fame is beyond me. He was in the category with Joe Greene, Cedric Hardman and Brandon Kennedy. Unfortunately, he passed away a few years ago never receiving the honor he certainly earned.

I believe that Walter was named Sports Illustrated defensive player of the week for his unbelievable game vs. Houston at Texas Stadium. He was part of the Houston backfield all day long. In fact, he intercepted a quarterback pitch, I think.

That is surprising.... I remember him and his nose tackle play. I remember him being one of the "name" players at that time.
