Should NBA - MLB Champions be called

Based on the performances of the US teams in recent years should the champions of the NBA and MLB series still be considered World Champion?

Yes, because as an American I don't give a rats a$$ about the rest of the world when it comes to sports. Besides, American athletes are "usually" the best in the world.

Yes, the gap is closing in basketball & baseball, but to me it doesn't matter. I'd take an American athlete over a foriegner any day of the week (if both athletes were unkown).

If you put any of the top six teams from the NBA up against the best teams in Europe they would stomp them. Baseball is the same, but I think the gap might be a little bigger.

Um, have you not been watching the past few tournaments? We are behind the curve now. They have caught up and past us. And you can say that we should send our NBA champions to play in these tourneys, but there aren't many good NBA teams anymore that don't have a key player from a foreign country.

However, all of the world comes to play in our leagues . . . so if you win in the mlb or nba you should be the world champions. USA might be lacking as of lately in international competition, but everyone still comes here because they know it is the top stage to play.

The top level of professional baseball, basketball and football is played in the USA. The winner of the top league in the world should be considered the world champion, wouldn't you think?
