which teams do you think will play for it all in Jan 2007?

Im going to go out on a long flimsy limb and predict Auburn to take it all...

My darkhorse is Cal.

I think its a pretty wide-open race, however, which should make for a fun year.

I agree with you on Auburn. I think the Trojans, Buckeyes, Horns, Gators, and maybe ND have a shot, as well. Might have a surprise from down in the polls, as well.

It will be interesting to see how the teams perform the first week or two out of the gate, as there are several teams breaking in new QB's this year. As was obvious last year with the MG, that position just depends so much on game experience.

Let's see, USCpn, and Texas are the two with big QB questions. tOSU has ?'s on their defense, and I'm still not sold on the Domers' team speed, which I think will catch up with them at some point. 'Bama's got to replace Croyle...Tech has to replace their QB...

Ahhh! Another college football season! cool.gif

I have the winner of UT tOSU vs. West Virginia. not a huge upset pick I know, but I dont see who WVU can lose against. the sunbelt is a tougher conference schedule than the big east right now. and whoever winns the UT tOSU game only has to play their respective rivals (both in a little bit of a down cycle) to get out with no losses. I also like Maimi and Georgia.

My support is going out for the Mountaineers. I think the are every bit as talented as Texas, OSU, OU, etc.

yes, as Georgia discovered last year, they can play some ball.

The interesting thing to see will be how well they handle the high ranking, high expectations, as they are no longer the underdog. Also, Louisville is a pretty good squad as well, and isnt getting much press

A few weeks ago I thought that those Alligagors were the team to beat. Then I find that Urban Meyer has a new assistant coach, who happens to be the backup QBs son. If he doesn't have Leak all screwed up, I'll still go with Florida

I think that the runnerup will either be Ohio State or the West Virginia/Louisville winner.

West Virginia seems to be a solid pick with their schedule and the fact that they are damn good. They probably only have 1 major test before the NC contest, so the odds favor them.
