HS Football Coaches Salary Survey

Complete salary survey of HS Head Coaches in the PA News. Some coaches also have the duty of athletic director. Highland HS Coach is paid $108,000. Lufkin coach, John Outlaw, $105,000.

being a high school coach is hard work and it takes time to get to the level of a head coach. teaching/ coaching is the only proffession that I am aware of that the top people cant expect to make top salarys at. these coaches put in 15-20 years of hard work and they are making $100k? they better really like what they are doing.

People doze off in church, but nobody in their right mind would sleep at a football game.

One of these articles comes out every 6-12 months. The worst one was in the last year and compared AD/HFC's from some of the largest and most prestigous schools in the state to the state minimum for a first year teacher. That would be like writing an article comparing the salary of a company's CEO to the first year employees right out of college.

Our HC makes not far from half of a lot of those guys that always get brought up, and he is the AD, head football coach, head basketball coach, and helps with track...and teaches classes. But there probably won't be an article breaking down how well he gets paid for what he does. Let's bring up Harrell and Dodge over and over and pretend that is the situation at every school. Makes for a better story doesn't it?
