Are Longhorns ready for the big screen?

12:22 PM CDT on Friday, August 25, 2006

This season will have everything, including a Godzillatron!

Against North Texas on Sept. 2, Texas will not only unveil the team attempting to repeat as national champion, but the Longhorns also will debut Godzillatron, a 7,370-square foot, high-definition Daktronics LED scoreboard.

For some reason, an upgrade to the old JumboTron at Texas wasn't sufficient unless it was the LARGEST FULL-SCREEN VIDEO BOARD IN THE WORLD.

It sits above 4,000 portable bleachers Texas has added to help meet demand for tickets at Royal-Memorial Stadium this season. (Texas has sold out its allotment of 74,000 season tickets and could have sold at least 2,000 more).

The number of portable bleachers will grow to 7,000 next season as Texas rebuilds its north end zone.

Players have jokingly said they want to hold their Madden video-game tournament on the new board. They’ve also said they will need time to get used to Godzillatron.

“It’s so big, hopefully I won’t get knocked out looking at it and trying to run,” said running back Selvin Young.

The last time they revealed the New Bevo..... Bevo XIII or whatever!

Beginning that night the new Bevo and UT has a record of: 24-1 They lost to the then undefeated OU by 0-12

I wonder if there is any hope of them going 24-2 with this Bevo ??????? not likely I suppose.

I guess the good news we only lost to them 65-0.... Colorado lost to UT 70-3 in the Big XII *TITLE GAME*, geezzzzz, also Baylor lost by 62-0, Kansas 66-14 and LaLa 62-0.

If you look at that way, things aren't quite so grim.

Can we get some engineers working on how to control what is shown on that thing? As an alternative, since they'll probably throw me out again anyway, I'm willing to make a run at the production booth. Don't worry, I always manage to get back in.

To the Mean Green, play the game of your life. This is your chance to poke these people who think they are so great in the eye. I'm so tired of seeing that longhorn on vehicles up here. You'd think I was in Texas.
