Just got a message from an AFA grad friend who says that AFA have the game down for

9/12/09.

So it looks like first game on the road v LSU and second at home v AFA, hopefully the first game in our pretty new stadium.

That's the type quality home games we need. I wonder if it is conditional on a new facility? We better get busy with that New Stadium Campaign if it's to open in 2009. I wish it was the opening game of that season and not after a trip to the Bayou.

I thought RV's exact quote was to target START of construction in 2009. Could be as late as 2010 to have it complete.

RV seemed to believe we would be breaking ground on a new stadium in 24-25 months... might be cutting it close.

When, where did he seem to believe this? Was this a recent declaration?

According to RV it will take 18 months from groundbreaking to a finished stadium. If that is true then we would need to break ground no later than February 2008. That's about 18 months away so it doesn't sound like we will have the new stadium by the time we play AFA.

I believe that I read that Tech wants to play NT and if they aren't already on the future schedule, they will be. Tech likes to schedule metroplex games (SMU TCU) and has opened a series with Rice in Houston.
