Other than what should be a couple of Ws, what do we gain by playing a couple of NAIA schools? The game won't draw flies and won't count in the NCAA RPIs. A couple more Southland Conference foes would draw much better and even count on our record.

Maybe difficulty in scheduling enough home games with Div 1 teams ?

The Cameron and Belhaven games are both exhibition games according to their web sites. Those two won't count as official games.

Isn't it unusual to have an exhibition game in the middle of the season.

I would like to get SMUt and TCU back on the hoops schedule, along with UTA. They are easy travel games and would draw more opponent fans than many other games would. We could have a Metroplex Trophy for the winner.

It is very unusual to have an exhibition game in the middle of the season. I have never heard of it before.

I think I understand why. NT plays Western Kentucky on Dec 19. The next game with Denver is not untill Dec 30. College basketball teams usually play twice a week. That is a long layoff. The Christmas break makes it seem even longer. Obviously NT needs a tune-up game before playing Denver.

By playing the exhibition with Belmont in December instead of October we can still keep the maximum 26 games with Div I opponents. The Athletic Dept seems to be responding to all the complaining about non-Div I opponents last season.

It would be great to play SMU and TCU. The word I have is SMU and Baylor will not play us. TCU might play.
