1st practice notes from FW*TElegram article

1. Offense had 9 turnovers that led to 5 defensive TD's..3 fumble returns, 2 interception returns.

2. At least 10 QB/Center exchanges were dropped, 2 freshmen and converted dE Pistole are handling center duties while Rose sits out with groin injury.

3. Tune drove offense for 2 scores..a TD pass and Field goal..another drive at the 5 yd line with interception.

4. Meager threw for 2 scores, Phillips took hard hit but later returned to throw a TD pass.

5. Brandon Jackson -25 yds, Gill-31 yds, David Collins-16 yds and Quinn-15 yds caught TD passes.

6. Issac Thomas sacked Meager for safety in end zone.

7. Hopovac-40 yd field goal, woodward- 40 yd field goal.

8. Jamo used sparingly...ran well on 2 drives but didn't return.

--Sounds terrible about center exchanges, should never happen.... turnovers is harder to evaluate ...sounds like defense is hustling but the offense is messing up....a lot of turnovers could be from the poor center exchanges.

--Personally I think our best chance to do really well against Texas is to get turnovers early (hopefully a cheap score or two) and get their inexperienced QB's confidence shaken. We just can't afford to do the same.
