The Cowboys train in Oxnard, Calif.

The Rangers knock off the rust in Surprise, Ariz.

The Mavericks have their sights set on Denton.

Coach Avery Johnson met with University of North Texas officials Monday and said the club hopes to conduct the first five days of training camp at the university. The rest would be at American Airlines Center as it has in the past.

"We are in preliminary talks, and it's really going well," Johnson said. "There is a high probability that we will go there if we can work out some kinks."

Camp opens in October.

This is huge. It won't just be local coverage on the mavs camp considering they played in the finals. This will be seen nationaly. The AD needs to make sure the NT logo is everywhere the camera pans. Might even go so far as having the mavs wear UNT/Mavs co-branded shirts/jersey's during practice. Get Dirk and Avery to wear an NT ball cap during interviews as well. Any and everything they can do. How awesome, although HIGHLY unlikely, would it be to even play a pre-season game at the Super Pit or how about Cuban the philanthropist does a Sunday at The Super Pit game and gives all Dean's list students a free ticket plus all the NT athletes? The sky is the limit with this one. NICE JOB RV!
