Is anyone else watching Owusu-Hemeng abuse that left tackle for the South? From the bits that I've seen he's gotten 1 1/2 sacks and a fumble recovery in the first half. I'm liking what I see.

Also, the walk on from Celina, Nathan Tune, is a QB not a DB like the roster says.

I really have high hopes for Mr. Owusu-Hemeng. I think he will be an impact player in coming years.

Watching the game in Dallas - I somehow got a Baylor Bear season ticket commercial. Now North Texas has had an ESPN commercial, but I think it only played in the Denton market (charter?). Just wish we had a cool commercial in the city of Dallas.

WOW!!! I've been very impressed with Sam O.H. He could very well have had 3-4 sacks at the half. I hope its a sign of him being that good and not the left tackle being that bad.

I'm also halfway impressed with the kid from Celina.

The kid from Celina is described to me as a pure drop back passer - not really mobile, but is fair when there is time to throw. He dates a cousin of mine, so I have met him at a family event. Nice guy, but quite.

Hemeng is a little on the small side but very quick and very aggressive. I like what I see in him. Tune was the best QB for the North. They kept putting Harrell in over and over again and he just was having an off night. Tune is a good athlete and had a couple of nice passes although I don't see him playing QB in college.

TE Victor Gill #88 didn't get to show us much because they did so much 4-receiver sets. He has a nice frame but needs to redshirt and put on more weight and muscle.

Has the North won, I would have guessed that Hemeng would have been the Defensive MVP.

Is Hemeng going to play DE or one of the LB spots in the 3-4. I'm guessing he is 6'1 or 6'2 which I guess is a few inches short for you protypical DE. But if he has the speed it seems as though he would work well at LB.

I love SOH's motor. He's all about getting to the quarterback. I think he'll overrun some plays in college because he really wants to make the big play, he'll probably need to learn to settle down. At only about 230 pounds, he'd really need to put on weight to play DE in a 3-4. He makes a great 4-3 end with his pass rushing skills (kind of like Dwight Freeney). I think in our defense that he's going to be a better fit at outside linebacker. That's really the position that will get to rush the passer more in our defense.

From FW Star-Telegram on all-star game:

"Carroll's Clint Renfro, a TCU signee, reached back in the end zone for an acrobatic 29-yard scoring catch from Celina's Nathan Tune, who threw for one score and ran for another for the North."

Sherman DT DeAnthony Chamberlain played most of the game also. He is supposedly a UNT "stash", and will be playing at Tyler Junior College this fall.
